And on the Sunday
Steve hacked the TiVo
And it was good
After slogging through the depths of hell to get my TiVo back to a stable state I was able to h4x0r it and put in a TurboNet card, change the drives around, and install all the web goodies. We can now program it via a web browser and pull the video off to our PCs. The client software for the extraction tool even has mark in/mark out buttons to edit out commercials before it converts to MPEG. Very nice. She (I now refer to our TiVo as a cruel mistress after the experience) must be happy with the new drive or all the attention, as it's faster than I've ever seen when adding stuff to the season pass list. We'll see how well it works after it gets filled with tons of Simpsons, South Parks, and all of TechTVs programming.
Something is wrong with the washer... or so I hear. Anyone care to elaborate?
